QR - Quick Response 2D Bar Code Scanners (Corded, Cordless)

QR or Quick Response 2D Bar Code Scanners and Readers for Mobile Marketing Applicaitons (Hand Held, Wireless, Presentation Models available)

Does your business or organization have to scan a lot of QR Bar Codes for a Point of Sale or Mobile POS application? If so Consumer Grade QR Bar Code Scanners (i.e. SmartPhones) are no match for Commercial Grade QR Bar Code Scanners. The battery wears down fast and SmartPhones are just not designed to withstand being dropped onto a hard surface found in today's retail establishments.

Solution: - Commercial Grade QR Bar Code Scanners that can scan QR Codes all day and handle multiple drops onto a concrete floor. (See corded and cordless QR Code Readers below).

QR Bar Code Scanners - The quick-response code is the hipster marketing must-have for the moment. Here's a look at what you'll need to get started.

We all use bar codes to buy things. Now small businesses may be able to use them to sell things. For pure techno hip factor, it's tough to beat quick response codes. Known as QR codes, these bizarre-looking, black-and-white gridded squares are actually straightforward:

They render information in a way that digital devices can easily understand. I like to think of QR codes as physical hyperlinks -- like barcodes on the side of most products --that connect names, numbers, and other data to physical objects using the camera on a smart phone or other portable device.

Until recently, it was difficult for small firms to use bar codes as big firms do -- to connect promotions, company information, calls to action and other marketing tools to business cards, flyers, signage and other business collateral. Scanning, creating and matching the back-end digital infrastructure of QR codes was a complex and expensive proposition.

No more...Now several QR code vendors are offering sophisticated scanning tools, content-creation systems and even integrated marketing platforms any small shop can use to improve how it communicates with customers by linking the "virtual" and "real" worlds.

Using QR Codes to promote your business

When it comes to the latest and greatest in marketing tools, maybe you've heard the term QR code bandied about as the next big thing. The initials QR stand for Quick Response, and you should think of a QR code as an easy-to-create, two-dimensional bar code that can be scanned by a smart phone to instantly and effortlessly share targeted content online with minimal exertion by the end user.

Recently I've noticed a lot of business travelers using QR codes as paperless airline boarding passes. Once downloaded to their smartphone, the traveler displays the QR code at the airport where a scanning device at the security checkpoint and later, at the gate, verifies their information and lets them pass.

I think we're going to be hearing a lot more about these high-speed codes in the months and years to come, because the benefits they offer businesses and consumers are astounding. By pointing a smartphone at the QR code, your customers or clients have instant access to exactly the information you want to impart. All that's required is a smartphone equipped with an easily obtained QR code reader or app. When users can scan your QR code, your data is instantly converted into text, graphics, or your company's website address (a process called "dequrifying").

But the really cool thing about QR codes is that any business, start-up or entrepreneur can create them online themselves, and in many cases, can do this or free (see Kaywa and ZXing for more information).

To date, QR codes have been successfully embedded on websites and in magazine ads, direct mail, coupons, email marketing, billboards, in-store advertising and contest entry forms. If you're considering adding QR codes to your social media marketing toolbox, keep in mind that many of your customers and contacts might not be familiar with the concept. It will be up to you to bring them up to speed, telling them how the codes work and more important, where they can pick up scanner applications for their smartphones.

Typical Applications or QR Bar Code include:
•Mobile couponing – provides targeted marketing, lowering distribution costs and efficient coupon redemption and processing.
•Next generation airline boarding passes (BCBP)
•VIP event notification at bars/clubs (opt-in for free drink, etc.)
•Event ticketing (e.g. sporting & concerts)
•Targeted manufacturer coupons
•Automation of order processing (e.g. reading off of LCD computer monitor)
•QR Bar Code - Mobile Phone scanning of bar coded coupons and tickets directly from the screen of a mobile device.
