Datalogic is pleased to announce the new Gryphon 4500 Digimarc models which reinforce and expand the Gryphon 4500 series establishing it at the TOP of 2D hand held scanners for RETAIL applications.

The main target of the Datalogic Gryphon GD/GBT4500 Digimarc models are RETAIL end users looking for products and solutions for automatic data capture. Datalogic’s Gryphon GD/GBT4500 Digimarc models are equipped with RED illumination technology coupled with a high-resolution megapixel sensor for outstanding reading results and best performance on standard 1D and 2D bar codes as well as on items printed with Digimarc barcodes.

The GBT4500 model is equipped with the innovative and contactless 'wireless charging system', which has removed the #1 cause of failure for all cordless scanners in the field: the contacts! The highly visible red 4-dot aimer, Datalogic’s Motionix™ motion-sensing technology, the patented ‘Green Spot’ technology and 3GL™ for good-read feedback will represent additional key elements for the operators who will find the Gryphon GD/GBT4500 Digimarc models extremely easy to use and intuitive.

Megapixel performance and the RED illumination technology provide great scanning and depth of field on standard 1D and 2D bar codes as well as on items marked with Digimarc barcodes. These technologies also have the capability to solve current and future needs and applications such as OCR and image capture.

Red Illumination Technology	The red illumination system provides great scanning and depth of field on standard 1D and 2D bar codes and on Digimarc items. End users who prefer the red illumination rather than the white illumination technology can use these 2 new models for their applications.
‘MR’ (Mid-Range) Reading Optics	Customers who are looking for a Gryphon 4500 series scanner with a ‘MR’ (Mid-Range) optic can use these 2 new models to solve their specific applications needs (e.g.; the Digimarc’s optics can read EAN/UPC 13 mils codes (from 10 - 620 mm / 0.4 - 24.4 in)

Digimarc Corporation has developed the Digimarc Barcode which is an advanced embedded bar code that is reliably and efficiently scanned by mobile computers and barcode scanners with digimarc firmware installed. It supports and enables the Digimarc Platform solutions for retailers. Cashiers don’t need to search for a UPC barcode, which speeds up the checkout process, reduces repetitive motion injuries and enables cashiers to engage more with shoppers. Only certain scanners can read it and there are actually very few.
